Varanasi/ Lucknow, Aug. 29 -- Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai today triggered a controversy when he dubbed RSS as an "army of widowers" while responding to Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat's suggestion that every Indian couple must have three children.
Attacking the Sangh, Rai said, "RSS is an army of widowers" and wondered how an RSS member can advise on family matters when he is unmarried.
Reacting sharply, the BJP demanded an apology from the Congress for Rai's statement.
The BJP called Congress "an army of foul-mouthed people" and said the people will give them answers for making such statements.
