Lucknow, Jan. 6 -- Severe cold continued unabated across Uttar Pradesh with chilly winds blowing through the state.
On Tuesday morning, dense fog enveloped 40 districts, including Kanpur, Barabanki, Gonda, and Bahraich, as visibility dropped to zero in many places.
Lucknow has also been engulfed in dense fog since late last night, and nothing is visible even 3 to 4 metres away.
Due to fog, Air India Express flight IX-2171 from Delhi to Lucknow was denied landing permission. The plane circled several times in the sky and later returned. Additionally, more than 15 flights were delayed, including nine in Gorakhpur.
More than 100 trains are running late at various railway stations, including Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj and Ghaziabad.
