Lucknow, Sept. 18 -- The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has issued notice to the Uttar Pradesh Advocate General (AG) on a petition challenging the constitutional validity of the legal provision excluding the Chief Minister from the purview of the Uttar Pradesh Lokayukta and deputy Lokayukta Act, 1975.

The court has issued a notice to the AG to argue the issues raised in the petition. The court also dismissed the petitioner's second petition seeking the immediate removal of the current Lokayukta and deputy Lokayuktas of the state.
