Lucknow, Dec. 10 -- Uttar Pradesh received another major boost in the field of power generation on Wednesday when the third unit of the Tehri Pumped Storage Plant (PSP), the country's first variable-speed pumped storage project, officially commenced commercial operations.
The virtual inauguration was jointly performed by union Minister of Power and Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, and Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister, A.K. Sharma.
The first two units of this important 1000 MW capacity project are already generating electricity. The commissioning of the third unit further strengthens the project's total operational capacity.
