Lucknow, Feb. 10 -- A fugitive carrying a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of the Uttar Pradesh Police after an encounter in Azamgarh district on Saturday, an official spokesman said here.
The spokesman said that an undertrial Jitendra Musahar, who was lodged in connection with a triple murder case, escaped from the Azamgarh jail in 2016.
"The STF team received input that Jitendra, along with his aide Chandrashekhar Mushar, was going to execute a crime," he said.
He said that acting on the tip, the STF team along with Sidhari police laid a trap, during which two people were spotted.
