Kushinagar, Jan. 9 -- Two minor children lost their lives after drowning in a water-filled drainage pit in Bhujouli Purab Tola village under the Khadda police station area of Kushinagar district, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. when five-year-old Aryan, son of Ramayan, and three-year-old Mangal, son of Deep Lal, were playing cricket near the house of Ramroop Singh.
During the game, the ball fell into a pit constructed to store wastewater (nabdan) near the house. While attempting to retrieve the ball, both children slipped into the pit filled with water and drowned.
