Lucknow, Nov. 27 -- Lucknow Police on Wednesday arrested two men who allegedly cheated students and their families of nearly Rs 100 crore by promising guaranteed MBBS admissions in private medical colleges.

The accused - Prem Prakash Vidyarthi (35), alias Abhinav Sharma, from Aurangabad (Bihar), and Santosh Kumar (34) from Samastipur (Bihar) - created a fake consultancy network that targeted NEET aspirants with low ranks.

According to DCP Crime Kamlesh Dixit, the duo was arrested near Kathauta Lake in Chinhat. One of the accused is a B.Tech graduate, while the other has studied up to Class 12.
