Lucknow, March 9 -- In a bid to reduce road accidents and equip officers and employees with the latest technology the officials and employees of the Transport Department of Uttar Pradesh will now undergo advanced training, a senior departmental officer said here on Sunday.
The Institute of Driving Training and Research (IDTR) in Rae Bareli is being developed as a Centre of Excellence to facilitate this initiative. A dedicated training cell, headed by the Additional Transport Commissioner (Administration), has been set up by Transport Commissioner Brajesh Narayan Singh to oversee the training programmes.
Besides, the Divisional Transport Officer of Basti Fariduddin has been appointed as the Nodal Officer for the Centre of Excellence.
