Budaun, Feb. 22 -- At least three people were killed and more than 20 others seriously injured in a devastating road accident in the Ujhani Kotwali area of Budaun early Sunday morning.
The collision occurred around 5 am near Singh Haveli on the Bareilly-Mathura Highway when a state-run roadways bus and a private bus crashed into each other. The impact was so severe that the private bus was badly mangled.
Police from Ujhani Kotwali station rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to the Government Medical College for treatment. The bodies of the deceased were sent to the mortuary. The accident led to heavy traffic congestion on the highway for several hours.
