Agra, Feb. 7 -- A soldier died after his parachute failed to open during para jumping from a plane in the Air Force jumping zone located in Malpura area of Agra district in Uttar Pradesh on Friday.
Police sources here said that on receiving the information, police and Air Force personnel reached the spot. Inspector of Malpura police station confirmed the incident.
The sources said that the soldier's name is said to be Manjunath, a resident of Karnataka. "It is being said that 12 soldiers jumped with parachute from the Air Force plane. Out of these, 11 landed safely but one soldier's parachute did not open," they said.
