Budaun, Aug. 15 -- In a tragic incident, 75-year-old Shanti Devi and her 35-year-old daughter, Jayanti, were found murdered with multiple stab wounds inside their home late Thursday night.
A relative, identified as Vipin, who was living nearby, sustained injuries in the incident and is being treated.
The incident took place in a newly constructed house located on the outskirts of Veerampur village under Dataganj police station. Jayanti had been residing there with her elderly mother after the death of her husband around 12 years ago.
According to reports, the house was still under construction, and the two women had moved there recently. Shanti Devi's other sons reside in the main village.
