Bareilly, Feb. 7 -- The administration in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh today carried out a major crackdown on illegal encroachments, demolishing an unlawfully constructed mosque on government land in Pipariya village of the Bhojipura area.
The action was taken in compliance with orders of the High Court, bringing an end to a legal dispute that had continued for nearly 18 years.
According to administrative officials, the mosque had been constructed on government-owned barren land classified as Category-5 in revenue records, registered under Gata number 1474. The structure, spread over approximately 300 square yards and covered with a tin shed, was found to be an illegal encroachment.
