Kaushambi (UP), April 28 -- A 24-year-old girl was allegedly murdered with a sharp weapon by unidentified people in the Pashchim Sharira area of the district in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Monday.
Police said that the girl was sleeping alone in a room on the roof on Sunday night.
"When the family members came to wake her up on Monday morning, her blood-stained body was found in an objectionable state," they said.
Police reached the spot after getting the information and sent the body for post-mortem.
"The matter is being investigated by the police. It is suspected that the girl was raped and then murdered," they said.
