Bahraich, Jan. 12 -- In a major crackdown on crime along the India-Nepal border in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh, a joint team of Bahraich Police and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has arrested five people, who were allegedly going to Nepal.
The five were apprehended while attempting to cross into Nepal from the Rupaidiha border in a vehicle fitted with a red and blue beacon light and a siren. The accused were reportedly going to gamble at a casino in Nepalganj, Nepal, and were using the fake siren and beacon to evade the police.
The operation was carried out by a joint team of Inspector Ramesh Singh Rawat, in-charge of Rupaidiha police station, and the 42nd Battalion of the SSB, acting on the directions of senior officials.
