Lalitpur, Jan. 1 -- A 65-year-old farmer died after coming in contact with an electric current while irrigating his field in Lalitpur district of Uttar Pradesh today.
The incident took place in Gram Pawa under the Talbehat Kotwali area.
The deceased has been identified as Nathu, son of Mangal Sahariya.
According to reports, Nathu was watering his crops when he accidentally stepped on a live electric wire lying in the field. He received a strong electric shock and collapsed on the spot.
Nearby villagers noticed the incident and immediately informed his family members. When the family reached the field and checked on him, they found that he had already died.
The police were then informed about the incident.
