Bulandshahr, July 29 -- In a significant breakthrough, the Kotwali Dehat police have arrested a convict who had been absconding for 41 years after being sentenced to life imprisonment in a murder case.
The convict, Sardar Khan, was apprehended on Monday from his residence in Gangrua village, acting on a tip-off from an informant. Confirming the arrest on Tuesday, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dinesh Kumar Singh said that a murder occurred on January 5, 1981.
Sardar Khan, along with co-accused Irshad (son of Sahib Dadkhan) and Pappu Tyagi (resident of Walipura Nahar), had stabbed Ganesh Dutt of Gangrua village to death following a dispute that broke out while consuming alcohol.
