New Delhi, Dec. 21 -- : A Special CBI Court in Lucknow has sentenced three individuals, including a former senior finance official, to five years of rigorous imprisonment for a fraud that caused a wrongful loss of over Rs 1 crore to the government under the Sampurna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY).
The convicted are Satyendra Singh Gangwar, the then Chief Finance & Accounts Officer of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Ballia; Ashok Kumar Upadhyay, the then Junior Accounts Clerk; and a private person Raghunath Yadav. The court also imposed a total fine of Rs 77,000 on them.
