Pratapgarh, Sept. 11 -- Ashish Singh (40), the District Social Welfare Officer posted in Azamgarh of Uttar Pradesh, was found dead at his native village Poore Keshav Rai of Pratapgarh district.
Singh reportedly hanged himself at his residence today, leaving the entire family and village in shock. Preliminary reports suggest personal distress may have played a role.
Originally a native of Pratapgarh, Singh had returned to his village last weekend. He was scheduled to resume duty in Azamgarh today.
