Mainpuri (UP), April 15 -- An Agniveer jawan and his relatives drowned while taking a bath in a canal after Bhagwat Katha in the Bewar area of the Mainpuri district here in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that Jitendra, a resident of Manjhgaon village, was posted as an Agniveer in the army in Jammu and had come home on leave. "On Tuesday, after the Bhagwat Katha, he had reached the house of one of his relatives in Bewar to participate in the Kalash immersion ceremony. Jitendra had gone to the canal with his relative Anshul, where both of them went to take a bath," they said.
