Mahoba (UP), March 12 -- Four labourers were killed and eight others are feared buried under the debris in an accident in a granite quarry in the Kabrai area of Mahoba district in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, a police officer said.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the incident and conveyed his condolences to the families of the deceased.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Deepak Dubey said the incident took place in the granite mine located near Pahara village where labourers were removing the debris after a blast to break the stones. "During this, a big rock gave away and fell on the labourers working on the site. Around a dozen labourers were buried under the debris," he said.
