Ghazipur, Oct. 8 -- A 16-year-old boy died in a road accident in the Birno police station area of Ghazipur district on Wednesday.
The victim, Monu Kanojia, son of Sunil Kanojia, was sitting by the roadside near his home in Arakhpur village when a private school bus ran over him.
According to reports, the incident occurred when the speeding bus, belonging to a private public school in Gehudi, lost control and hit the boy.
Monu died on the spot due to the severe injuries. Following the accident, the driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle.
Locals immediately informed the police. Officers from Birno police station arrived at the location, took possession of the body, and sent it for postmortem examination.
