Mumbai, Oct. 21 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast unseasonal rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms across Maharashtra for four days beginning tomorrow.

Although the Southwest monsoon has officially withdrawn, a newly-formed low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal has created atmospheric conditions conducive to widespread rain activity across the state.

The weather office has issued heavy rain warnings for the Konkan, Goa, Marathwada, and Madhya Maharashtra regions. The development comes in the wake of excessive rainfall and flooding in the past two months that caused extensive damage, including loss of livestock, submerged properties, and severe agricultural destruction across several districts.
