Pune, March 19 -- On the eve of Gudhi Padwa, several parts of Maharashtra witnessed sudden unseasonal rainfall accompanied by hailstorms and strong winds.

Regions including Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra, and parts of Vidarbha were affected, raising serious concerns about crop damage.

In Beed taluka, areas like Neknoor and Manjarsumba experienced intense rainfall with gusty winds.

The downpour led to knee-deep water accumulation on the service road of the Dhule-Solapur National Highway, causing inconvenience to commuters.

According to the Meteorological Department, the rain lasted for nearly 45 minutes. There are fears that standing rabi crops and orchards may have been impacted.
