Ranchi, Nov. 14 -- The state is experiencing December-like chill in mid-November, with temperatures falling earlier and more steeply compared to previous years. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature has dropped consistently across several districts, settling three to four degrees below normal.
Officials attribute this early onset of cold to the impact of western disturbances and unusually early snowfall in the Himalayan region. As a result, cold winds are sweeping across the state, intensifying winter conditions ahead of time.
