United Nations/New Delhi, April 26 -- The UN Security Council has condemned in the strongest terms the Pahalgam terror attack and underlined the need to hold its perpetrators, organisers, financiers and sponsors accountable and bring them to justice.

In a statement, the UN Security Council reiterated that any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation.

The statement read:

"The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April, during which at least 26 people were killed and many more injured.

"The members of the Security Council expressed their deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government ...
