Dera Ismail Khan, Oct. 25 -- Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, reeling from yet another bout of fresh violence, saw the destruction of an under-construction girl's school by unknown assailants on Friday.

The attackers reportedly blew up the structure with explosives in the suburban village of Gara Budha in Tank district, of the Dera Ismail Khan division, as per local media.

A police official said that the building, which was in its final stages of completion, sustained severe damage after explosive material, planted under its boundary wall and several classrooms, went off.

According to police officials, the bomb disposal unit inspected the site and collected preliminary evidence.
