Thiruvananthapuram, July 3 -- Triggering a legal confrontation, the Kerala University Syndicate has rejected the decision of Vice-Chancellor Mohanan Kunnummal to suspend Registrar K.S. Anil Kumar in connection with a recent fracas during a programme attended by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on June 25 at the University Senate Hall.

"Registrar K.S. Anil Kumar will continue in office. The Vice-Chancellor's move to suspend the Registrar, based on the Chancellor's directive, is completely unlawful. We will challenge this both legally and politically," Syndicate member R. Rajesh said in a statement.
