Aizawl, May 24 -- Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, George Kurian, arrived in Aizawl on Saturday with a promise to boost Mizoram's fisheries sector, saying the state holds "huge potential" for development.
Kurian, welcomed at Lengpui Airport by Fisheries Minister Lalthansanga and senior officials, spent the day touring private fish ponds in Lengpui and inspecting the proposed site for the Fish Farmers' Training Centre under the North Eastern Council at Laldenga Fisheries Demonstration Farm.
During the visit, Mizoram officials highlighted the hurdles faced by local fish farmers and sought Central Government approval for pending projects, including the Integrated Aqua Park planned at Za...
