Srinagar, June 17 -- Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan today chaired a high-level meeting here to review the security preparedness for the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra, set to begin on July 3.
The meeting was attended by top civil and security officials of Jammu and Kashmir, including Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat, General Officer Commanding (GoC) of Srinagar based 15 Corps Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava, and senior officers from intelligence agencies.
Although there was no official statement issued after the meeting, sources said the review focused on the overall security arrangements for the Yatra, with special emphasis on coordination among the Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and the Jammu and Kashmir Police....
