New Delhi, June 25 -- In a major boost to Pune's urban transport infrastructure, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today approved the Pune Metro Rail Project Phase-2, with an estimated cost of Rs 3,626.24 crore.
The 12 km extension, spanning two elevated corridors will connect key city areas, including fast-developing suburbs like Chandani Chowk, Bavdhan, Kothrud, Kharadi, and Wagholi, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said in a media briefing here after the Cabinet meeting.
He said two new corridors will extend the existing Vanaz-Ramwadi metro line, enhancing connectivity across Pune. Corridor 2A will run from Vanaz to Chandani Chowk, while Corridor 2B will connect Ramwadi to Wagholi/Vitt...
