New Delhi, Aug. 12 -- The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today approved Phase-1B of the Lucknow Metro Rail Project in Uttar Pradesh, an important step forward in the city's infrastructure growth. This new phase will cover a route of 11.165 km with 12 stations - 7 underground and 5 elevated. After Phase-1B becomes operational, Lucknow will have a total metro network of 34 km, according to an official statement here. The 1B phase will add 11.165 km of new metro lines, improving public transport in some of the oldest and busiest parts of the city where connectivity is currently poor.
