New Delhi, Nov. 26 -- The union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the construction of Line 4 (Kharadi-Hadapsar-Swargate-Khadakwasla) and Line 4A (Nal Stop-Warje-Manik Baug) as part of Phase-2 of the Pune Metro Rail Project. Announcing the decision at a press briefing, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw described the move as a major boost to Pune's urban mobility.

"These two lines, spanning 31.636 km with 28 elevated stations, will connect major IT hubs, commercial centers, educational institutions, and residential areas across East, South, and West Pune," Vaishnaw said.
