Kabul, May 25 -- After facing decades of major conflicts, unexploded landmines continue to pose a lethal risk in Afghanistan, with one village in Parwan province's Koh Safi district reporting approximately 200 fatalities in a single area alone.
Residents of Jawzak, a remote village home to nearly a thousand families, describe a landscape still hazardous with hidden explosives.
Mohsin Khan, a local resident, conveyed the enduring toll: "There have been many landmines here over the past 30 years, and they have martyred many people.
"We have nearly 200 martyrs due to mine explosions, and the number of people injured by mines is also very high," reports Tolo News.
