Belem (Brazil), Nov. 12 -- The UN Environment Program (UNEP) has released its Global Cooling Watch 2025 report today at COP30, highlighting that cooling demand could potentially triple by 2050 if current trends continue.

This surge is attributed to rising population and income levels, increasing instances of extreme heat, and a growing number of low-income households having access to less efficient and more polluting cooling methods.

As a result, cooling-related greenhouse gas emissions could nearly double compared to 2022, reaching an alarming 7.2 billion tons of CO2 by 2050.
