Sultanpur, Sept. 23 -- A major accident occurred in the village of Dhariyamau, under Lambhua police station limits, when the roof of an under-construction house suddenly collapsed.

Seven labourers were trapped under the debris; while four were rescued, three died in the incident.

The tragic event took place at around 8 pm yesterday while the roof was being cast on a 20x30 ft area of a house belonging to Ram Teerth Dhuriya, a resident of the village who currently lives in Mumbai. He had contracted Ram Milan Verma for the construction work. At the time of the collapse, some workers were on the roof while others were near a mixer machine.

According to eyewitnesses, the shuttering gave way just as the concrete mixing machine was being opened...
