Mumbai, Jan. 15 -- Confusion over rules governing the use of mobile phones at polling stations caused inconvenience to voters at several locations in Mumbai on Thursday as voting for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections began at 7.30 am.

Voters reported inconsistent practices across polling booths, with some election and police personnel not allowing mobile phones inside the polling premises, while others permitted phones up to the voting room provided they were switched off.

The lack of uniform enforcement led to confusion and delays, particularly during the early morning hours.
