Imphal, July 22 -- : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs in Manipur, who were expecting the formation of a popular government in the state, have begun discussions on the political developments as the Centre prepares to extend President's Rule for another six months. A BJP leader said that the central leadership has decided to place a resolution seeking approval for the extension of President's Rule-imposed through a Proclamation issued by the President on February 13, 2025-under Article 356(1) of the Constitution of India, during the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament.
