Shimla, Sept. 26 -- The Himachal Pradesh High Court has deferred the decision on the anticipatory bail plea of HAS officer and Una SDM, Vishwa Mohan Dev, who is facing rape allegations.
On Friday, a single bench of Justice Bipin Chandra Negi adjourned the matter after the state government failed to submit its status report. The court has listed the case for further consideration on October 6.
Earlier, Justice Rakesh Kainthala, while hearing the matter, had observed that the FIR clearly indicated the commission of rape on August 10.
He also cited a Supreme Court ruling which held that pre-arrest bail should generally not be granted in rape cases, stating that there was no sufficient ground to extend anticipatory bail at this stage.
