Shimla, May 15 -- Heatwave conditions are intensifying in parts of Himachal Pradesh as Una sizzled at 41.8degC on Thursday, marking the second-highest maximum temperature of this summer season.
The Meteorological Centre, Shimla, has attributed the rise in temperature to prevailing dry conditions, even as a western disturbance has started becoming active over the region.
While most stations recorded above-normal temperatures, Sundernagar (37.6degC), Bhuntar (36.0degC), Kangra (37.8degC), and Bilaspur (38.7degC) remained notably hot. Tourist hotspots like Manali (27.2degC), Shimla (27.2degC), and Dharamshala (34.0degC) also saw a spike in mercury levels.
