New York, Nov. 3 -- The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will host the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha, Qatar, from 4 to 6 November 2025, in line with Resolutions 78/261 and 78/318.

The Summit marks 30 years since the landmark 1995 Copenhagen Declaration and Programme of Action on Social Development, a framework adopted by world leaders to tackle global challenges such as poverty, hunger, unemployment, inequality, and social exclusion.

While significant progress has been made since then, the world continues to face deep-rooted social challenges, exacerbated by conflict, climate change, and other crises.
