New York, Sept. 28 -- The United Nations has reimposed an arms embargo along with other international sanctions on Iran early Sunday, under the snapback mechanism of the 2015 nuclear deal. The move took effect early Sunday, following weeks of warnings from the E3 nations - UK, France and Germany - to Tehran to resume its cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog.
Accusing Iran of non-compliance, they formally appealed to the UN Security Council in August to reinstate sanctions under the automatic clause built into the nuclear agreement.
