Prayagraj, Jan. 27 -- As the dharna by Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati outside his camp at the Magh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, entered its ninth day on Tuesday, several political leaders have come out in his support, and many saints and seers have also backed him.
The religious leader has ctiticised the state government on various issues including what he has alleged is violence against children and elders as well as laxity in enforcing cow protection measures. However, the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath without directly namimg the Swami, has asserted that there were attempts by certain elements to divide society under the guise of religion and nobody was above the Constitution and the law.
