Moscow, Aug. 25 -- Ukrainian drone attacks sparked fires at a Russian nuclear plant and other energy facilities, local authorities said Sunday.

Debris from a Ukrainian drone struck a transformer at the Kursk nuclear power plant early Sunday, causing a fire and damage, the regional operational headquarters said.

No casualties were reported, it said, adding that the blaze was extinguished and radiation levels at the plant and surrounding area remained unchanged.

In the Leningrad region, debris from another drone ignited a fire at a terminal of Russian natural gas producer Novatek in the port of Ust-Luga, regional governor Alexander Drozdenko said.

The fire was later put out and no casualties were reported, he said.
