Moscow, Aug. 25 -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, the Order of Merit 1st Class for his contribution after the diplomat was not included in the US delegation to the Alaska summit.

The 81-year-old retired general arrived in Kiev on Sunday to take part in ceremonial events marking Ukraine's Independence Day.

During a televised ceremony, Zelenskyy awarded the Order of Merit 3rd Class to Trump's pastor Mark Burns. German Ambassador to Ukraine Martin Jaeger was awarded the Order of Merit 2nd Class.
