London/Warsaw, Sept. 21 -- The UK Royal Air Force deployed two Typhoon fighter crafts which carried out sorties over Polish skies. The operation comes in wake of the NATO's bid to strengthen its eastern flank against possible Russian aggression, following the Sept 9 incident, when Russian drones entered Polish airspace.

According to the UK Ministry of Defence, the fighter jets took off from the Royal Air Force base in Lincolnshire to "patrol Polish skies and deter and defend against aerial threats from Russia, including drones," the ministry said in a statement, reports CNN.
