London, Sept. 21 -- UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is expected to announce London's recognition of Palestinian statehood in a statement on Sunday afternoon, reports BBC.
The British premier maintained that following its deliberations over the issue in July, it will move to recognise a Palestinian state unless Israel does not agree to de-escalate its military advance, depart the Gaza Strip, and commit to a two-state solution to resolve the conflict.
Jerusalem had categorically rejected all demands by Western nations and lambasted the UNGA vote last week which was overwhelmingly in favour of a two-state solution.
