London, July 9 -- The United Kingdom could take further measures against Israel if no ceasefire is reached in the Gaza Strip soon, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy said.

On Tuesday, Lammy criticized comments made by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz a day earlier about relocating the Gaza population to a "humanitarian" zone in the southern Gaza Strip.

"I think that would be a big sticking point for getting that ceasefire," Lammy said at a meeting of the UK parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee, as quoted by The Times of Israel on Tuesday.
