London, April 22 -- The United Kingdom and France will host military planners from more than 30 countries in London on Wednesday to formalise operational plans to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which has been largely closed for nearly two months amid regional tensions.

The two-day conference to be held at the UK's Permanent Joint Headquarters in Northwood, will focus on country's military capabilities, command and control structuresas well as "how military forces can deploy to the region," the UK Ministry of Defence said.

Any operational planning will be advanced "as soon as conditions permit, following a sustainable ceasefire agreement," the ministry said.
