UGC fact-finding team begins probe into FM College Student Soumyashree's death

Balasore, July 18 -- A four-member fact-finding team from the University Grants Commission (UGC) arrived in Balasore today to begin its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attempted self-immolation and subsequent death of Soumyashree Bisi, a second-year Integrated B.Ed. student of Fakir Mohan Autonomous College.

Soumyashree, aged 20,who attempted self immolation on July 12 in the college campus, sustained over 90 percent burn injuries and later succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar on July 14.
