Jammu, Jan. 22 -- Civilian flights will soon commence from the Udhampur Air Force Station, with setting up of interim arrangements at the existing facilities, union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh announced today.

Reviewing the progress of operationalising civilian air services in a meeting at Udhampur, Dr Singh said, "Close coordination between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) is underway to expedite the process."He informed that, with the existing facilities and interim arrangements, flight operations are targeted to be operationalised in the next six to seven months.
